socioeconomics

in some ways being lower class and
struggling through life has been enriching.
it has done wonders for my character.
i am living proof that a person is more than their environment and socioeconomic status.
i feel good about that most days,
but today i realized why many people with lives and class similar to my own choose to remain there mentally, spiritually, and physically.
it is just overwhelmingly difficult to be stuck "down here" through circumstance and long to be better, strive to be better only to realize there is absolutely NOTHING better about the people in a higher caste except that they have more money and influence.
money and influence that normally makes them less interesting, less creative or original, and just generally less human
the people with the best perspective are often those who see things from the bottom up...
the perspective is great but the view from here sucks

  1. I think growing up the way that we were raised helped us in so many ways. We are better people for it, and it is something that will bless us the rest of our lives. Not everyone is lucky enough to be raised lower-class. It makes us appreciate simple things that higher-classes take for granted, such as having food on the table. Because of the way I was raised, I understand what it means to be truly blessed!
